Ingredients
  

  • 1 Lb ground beef - 80/20 use ⅓ to ½ pound per burger
  • Salt and pepper to taste OR 7:2:2
  • Buns and fixings

Instructions
 

  • Preheat grill on high. Clean and oil grill grates.
  • Start with 80/20 ground beef and divide it into ⅓ to ½ pound balls. Form into patties about ¾ inch thick and 4-inch diameter.
  • Sprinkle salt, pepper, and garlic on both sides of patty. Press one inch round ¼ inch deep indentation into center of one side.
  • Grill over direct heat with closed lid for 5 minutes before flipping, then 3-4 minutes more. Check temperature; should be 160° to 165° before adding cheese for 30-60 seconds if using cheese.
  • Place meat on bun and serve without resting first.
